Artist Statement
This piece, based on the text ‘Hōrai’, consists of four individually silkscreen printed layers on 300g Somerset paper. In order to achieve the overall blue hue, I created a number of proofs and documented in detail the tone variation as each layer of ink was applied. Lastly, a coat of semi matte acrylic varnish was applied over the complete image.

「蓬莱」に基づいたこの作品は、300g のサマセット紙に個別にシルクスクリーン印刷された四つのレイヤーで構成されている。全体的にブルーの色合いを実現するために、何度も試し刷りを行い、インクを重ねるごとに変化する色調を詳細に記録した。最後にセミマットアクリルワニスを塗って完成させた。
