Artist Statement
‘Ubazakura’ stood out for me. I love its clarity and brevity. The story is delivered in a pragmatic way. The cherry tree of the milk nurse is a striking image. The tree, a monument to the nurse’s sacrifice, is a beacon of hope celebrating her love and selflessness. I portrayed the cherry tree as a shadow on the Koi Pond.

「乳母桜」は私にとって一際目をひく物語だった。特にその明快さと簡潔さが気に入った。物語は現実的な方法で語られている。乳母の桜の木は印象的なイメージであり、乳母の犠牲を悼む記念碑であるこの木は、彼女の愛と無私無欲の精神を讃える希望の光となっている。桜の木は、鯉の池に映る影として描いた。
