Artist Statement
There was a slope beside the Akasaka Road in Tokyo that was once a part of an ancient moat. A place at the edge of something. Mujina is a spirit-remnant linking present and past who was formed long ago in some tragedy. Is she still there, awaiting the unwary in some multi-level building that stands on the spot?

東京の赤坂通り沿い、かつての古いお濠の一角に坂道があった。何かの周縁にある場所。ムジナは、遠い昔に何かの悲劇のなかで作り出された、現在と過去を繋ぐ残霊である。彼女はまだそこにいて、油断した人を待ち伏せしているのだろうか。今では高層ビルが立っている、あの場所で。
