ラフカディオ・ハーンの「かけひき」に寄せて
Artist Statement
This hand reminds me of the short story ‘Diplomacy’. Although the story itself does not feature a hand, it made me wonder if a severed body part still retains a soul. Despite being the farthest from our brains, hands seem to express our true selves.

この手は短編集に収録された「かけひき」を思い起こす。物語に手は登場しないが、切り離された身体の一部は、それでもなお魂が宿っているのか。脳からもっとも離れたところにあるものなのに、手からはその人の本質が現れるような気がする。
