Artist Statement
Ripples are catching a silvery light, threads of foam are swirling. But a little further off no motion is visible …only distance soaring into space. My photo, ‘Kniferock/Tideline’, was taken where the North Atlantic Ocean meets the North Mayo Cliffs. Almost drawn by the presence of an invisible human hand as human or superhuman presences are suggested in Kwaidan.

波紋は銀色の光を受け、泡の糸が渦を巻いている。だが、少し離れたところでは動きは見えない……ただ空高くへと広がっていく遠景があるだけだ。私の写真 Kniferock/Tideline は、北大西洋と北メイヨーの断崖が対峙する場所で撮影された。『怪談』において人間や超人間的な存在が示唆されるように、何か見えない人間の手の存在に導かれたかのようだった。
